I've had the Bad Flu since April 2nd. (No flu is the 'good' flu, but the 'O.K. I'll just survive this' flu only lasts 48 hours. This Bad flu is one of those nasty bugs who hangs on for dear life!) I remember distinctly feeling odd that day, yet pushing through all the duties of a wife and mom. Two of my boys were heading out for a week-long trip the next day so I had food to buy, food to pack, from-scratch muffins to make and a social engagement to attend with hubby that eve...

My perfectly delightful birthday.

Two weeks ago today was my birthday. With taxes and writing deadlines and housework and meal planning...it seems the calendar is on fast forward. How could I possibly already be 2 weeks older?!  Everyone asked "what are you doing for your birthday?" then it was, "what did you do for your birthday?" but I didn't have any big plans and I didn't want any, to tell you the truth! It was a simple but perfect day.

My girls, my friends, my advisors...

Every time a special event pops up, I'm stumped about what to wear. Come to think of it, just about every time I leave the house for a meet-and-greet, I'm stumped about what to wear. I can get it almost right quite often, but the wrong shoes with the right outfit are just wrong and can mess up the whole thing. I can be really good at wrong belts, wrong shoes, wrong hair....

I'm not obsessed - too many folks can testify to seeing me in my flannel jammies, granny robe with no make-up and hag hai...
